As I journeyed through the islands I noticed these strange and huge circular stone discs. Some were nearly as tall as me and all had a large hole cut into the middle of them. After some enquiring I found out that they were ancient currency! Not like todays coins (you definitely wouldn’t want them in your pocket!) they were more symbols of wealth rather than something you’d use to buy your groceries.
Join me as we'll discover and learn about the world and every country it has to offer. I'll delve into my favourite experience, sight or people that I visit and meet along the way and give you some fun facts. I'll also be taking a snap as I travel so take a peel below to see where I've been so far.

Made up of over 600 really small islands the land area is very minimal but it sure does have some incredible history. I was here to see the amazing temple ruins of Nan Madol. Built over 2,000 years ago this temple complex was built on coral reefs so creates it’s very own small islands. We took to the waterways to view these ruins which were once home to the nobility of the country and what a spectacular site it was too. Some even call it the ‘Venice of the Pacific’ and I can see why!
