Ho Chi Minh, affectionately known as Uncle Ho, was born in 1890 and became a beacon of hope for Vietnam's independence movement. What did Ho Chi Minh do?

It was during his time in France that Ho Chi Minh witnessed the injustices faced by the Vietnamese people under French colonial rule. His passionate plea for equal rights fell on deaf ears, igniting a determination within him to fight for his country's freedom. This began his lifelong dedication to improving the lives of his fellow Vietnamese.

In 1941, Ho Chi Minh returned to Vietnam and adopted the name 'Bringer of Light' (Ho Chi Minh) as he led the charge for independence. Through years of struggle and conflict, including the successful takeover of North Vietnam from the French in 1945, Ho Chi Minh emerged as a formidable leader.

Ho Chi Minh's ultimate goal was the uniting of North and South Vietnam, a dream that led to a terrible war. Despite facing formidable challenges, including the involvement of American forces in 1969, Ho Chi Minh remained steadfast in his pursuit of a united and independent Vietnam.
