Brunei is known for having one of the richest Sultans in the world and perhaps the most extravagant. BUT it’s also home to the Proboscis monkeys and they are the real reason for my visit. These monkeys are very intelligent and walk frequently on two legs. Their most prominent feature is obviously their nose! It’s HUGE! In fact a males nose can grow up to 10 cm in length and is used to amplify their voice when attracting a mate.

Definitely worth the trip to see these funny creatures. Before I left I headed back to the capital Bandar Seri Begawan and jumped on a river cruise to view the great Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and I wasn’t disappointed, it’s grandeur and amount of gold sure makes you take a step back in wonder.
